Limor Gaash
Mezzo Soprano
Artist Biography
“Mezzo-soprano Limor Gaash was an assertive vocal and dramatic presence, embodying the role of Carmen superbly with her husky, purring lower register.” (The Harvard Crimson).
"With a perfect pitch take that conveyed self-confidence rather than allure, Limor Gaash gave the Habanera a refreshing forcefulness, cutting back on seductiveness to emphasize instead its call for the uncharted life of the unruly and the misfits..." (The Boston Musical Intelligencer).

The Boston Musical Intelligencer commended her fiery rendition of "Les tringles des sistres" describing it as a display of "ruthless gypsy powers that seduce with a captivating authority". The review further observed her taunting of Don José as "vehement and crude," yet "appealing to their common nature as lawless misfits," creating a profoundly authentic and multidimensional Carmen (The Boston Musical Intelligencer).
